AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating website recently announced its list of the top 10 safest airlines.
Top 10 safest airlines
Once again, top of the list is Australian airline Qantas which has had zero fatalities in the jet era.
The remainder of the top 10 in alphabetical order are: Air New Zealand, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, , Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.
In total the company carried out a survey of 449 airlines, of which 149 were awarded the top seven-star safety ranking. Almost 50 airlines had three stars or less, with five airlines achieving a one star rating. In alphabetical order these were: Agni Air, Kam Air, Nepal Airlines, Scat and Tara Air.
Responding to calls to publish a list of the world’s safest low-cost airlines the company identified the following in their top 10. In alphabetical order these were: Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines, Icelandair, Jetstar, Jetblue, Kulula.com, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook, TUI Fly and Westjet.
